Frozen

I just downloaded this app and was very excited to use itbfor my familys upcoming trip to nyc for christmas and it froze and will not reboot.

Love it

Organized and well curated lists to do in the city for fellow hyperactive New Yorkers. Excellent app to get you inspired and going. What an excellent resource!

Finally a NYTimes app thats good

Well its hard to believe it took them this long to finally hire sone real interaction designers and come up with a useful well done app that doesnt crash or publish weird unfinished work as their NYTimes iPad app does all the time. The NYTimes has the worlds best writers and huge stores of knowledge and resources about NYC and this app conveniently and simply puts many of them at your fingertips. A few things Id like to be able to set my own location so even if I am traveling somewhere else in the world I can get NY local info (and advise others). Currently only seems to read my GPS location halfway around the world and of course tells me there is nothing nearby. Also there should be a search by food type drop down menu so vegans or those who only eat a certain kind of food or are looking for a specific ethnic food can find it. Overall I love this free app better than bigger clunkier (urban daddy) apps. Ive already planned several day trips for when I return and can highly recommend you give it a spin.

The Scoop

Love this app! Its updated regularly with new & interesting places to check out. I use it all the time & its never steered me wrong.

The best NYC arts app Ive found

Great content, attractive and intelligent arrangement. Simple to use. Bingo. Nice job NYT

I love it!

Its brilliant! Ive never felt the need to rate an app, but this is a must have if you really want to experience the little beauties of NY. Thank you for creating this app.

My go-to app for a day off.

Well organized

Great NYC app

A really fun app for some off the beaten path things to do in NYC. I particularly like the Spring section, which I assume will change with each season.

Getting started

I love this app. It got me started in NYC and used to being here. Great info, especially about food!

best coffee app

Love Oliver Strands coffee recommendations. Please keep adding more Mr. Strand. You skipped some good ones in park slope/gowanus: crop to cup root hill cafe postmark cafe 474 naidres cafe gorilla coffee cafe regular cafe regular du nord cafe martin cafe dada de luxe more... noella brew bar, konditori (x2), roots cafe, kos kaffe, red horse cafe.

Great app

Needs an update for IOS6 and Iphone 5 but still a great app.

Updated, now crashes

Installed the update introduced today, and now the app opens to the splash screen and then crashes/closes. Wanted to check out the new Citi Bike section.

Crashes

Crashes (even after restarting device), then to rub it in, asks if it can use ones location.

So many ads...

So many ads it makes the application virtually unusable. Every navigation action seems to result in an ad.

Crashing

App crashes upon loading. Love the content though- please fix!

Used to be great - now crashes

Keeps crashing! Please fix!

For New Yorkers

The best for both who visits NYC and those who live here

Great potential

I would give this app a much higher rating except for the following very annoying feature: each time you Tap to a new page, the Citibank advertisement pops up which requires tapping again before you can get to what youre looking for. This happens even after I open the Citibank ad and viewed it! It happens after Every Single TAP!!!!!!! Highly annoying.

Too much Citi

While the app contains very useful information the Citibank ad that appears between every single screen swipe is obnoxious overkill. Yes, we know they are the sponsors of the app but having their ad in our face for more than half the screens, with no way to hide the ad, is extremely off putting and greatly diminishes the usability of the app.

Used to be great, now useless

This was once a great app for finding the best restaurants, coffee, bars, or events the city has to offer. A recent update now requires you to manually click to skip past a full-screen ad EVERY single time you navigate within the app. Its annoying enough to render the app useless. I know you need revenue, NYT, but this just isnt the way.
